RE: Use brain to avoid ‘fog’, Dec. 17.

Just a few thoughts about Jane Vandervliet’s letter. I agree wholeheartedly with the main message of her letter, but I am not sure why she has to make a distinction between Christians and non-Christians.

I don’t think the virus discriminates between people of different races or religions, so why target your message to each group separately?

I am also not sure what she means when she says “non-Christians should stop their religious appropriation this year.” Readers could take that to mean any number of things.

Christmas is an all-encompassing holiday which is impossible to ignore if you are not Christian; it is pretty hard not to get swept up in the festivities, like it or not.

Listen to the public health messaging, yes!  But let’s not make this about religion.
