Morally sound

Dear Editor:

RE: Cannabis quandary, Jan. 31.

In response to Chris Daponte’s editorial regarding the voting on cannabis by Centre Wellington council, I wish to make to following comments.

If the council did vote for a moral reason, then I commend them for being diligent enough to inform themselves of the risks, the cost to the community and potential long-term harm.

Open internet polls are not considered statistically sound. They encourage those with a vested interest to bias the results.

We should encourage our politicians to make morally sound decisions.

Pat Woode,

Fergus
