Make a change

Dear Editor:

I go to John Black Public School and I am in Grade 8. There’s lots of pollution in the world, and we could do much more to stop it.

When we receive things from other countries, we ship them across the ocean, therefore causing pollution. When the ships pollute the water, the water pollutes the plants, and the plants pollute the animals in the water. We’re throwing our garbage in lakes, oceans, rivers, etc., and that doesn’t help at all. When the garbage isn’t clean, it makes the water even dirtier.

People in other countries don’t have the same privileges we do. They might not have access to clean water, and they may not be able to clean their water. Many people around the world are not drinking clean water, and not eating very much. This all happens because of pollution.

What if we did something to stop this? What if we used more recyclable material? What if we could make a change?
