‘Gender’ gaffes?

Dear Editor:

An open letter to the “peoplekind” of Canada.

Please beware of male construction workers’ impact on female populations in rural areas of our country! Our PM Justin Trudeau has stated that there is a social impact by male construction workers to females in rural Canada.

What is our Prime Minister talking about? Gender impacts, gender lens, social impacts, gender equity, etc.

I don’t know, call me simple,  but,  I believe construction workers do a hard, unforgiving, thankless job in all kinds of weather to feed their families. One could say they have literally built this country.

What is even more puzzling is that this comes from a person who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, a trust fund baby to be exact (not that there is anything wrong with that, we should all be so lucky).

Another irony being that the Trudeaus made their fortunes with gas stations of all things, but I digress …

So Prime Minister, just what is this social impact that you speak of?

Mr. Trudeau, before you lecture us on gender lenses (who comes up with this stuff?) why don’t you try to balance the budget (it’s not balancing itself) and secure our borders.

Delsie Drover, BELWOOD
