Food security survey

Dear Editor:

Food security is defined as “having physical and affordable access to sufficient, safe and nutritious food to meet dietary needs and food preferences.”

In Canada, recent data has shown that 4.4 million Canadians are food insecure, or a lack of healthy food impacts approximately one in eight households.

The Centre Wellington Community Foundation (CWCF) wants to understand better the local impact of food insecurity in Centre Wellington, Minto, Mapleton and Wellington North.

CWCF and our health partners are conducting a survey to help us to gain local insights into this problem. The survey results will be made public and will help guide us in reducing food insecurity in our community.

You can take the survey at www.cwcfoundation.ca.
