‘Decide for yourself’

Dear Editor:

RE: Individual, collective, March 21.

Doug Prest claims that increased CO2 puts us on track to reach temperatures we haven’t seen for two million years.

No doubt that’s based on UN IPCC computer model forecasts, which have been consistently wrong. According to a graph that appeared in the first IPCC report in 1990, temperatures were much higher than today during the Medieval Warm Period (MWP), peaking around 1180 A.D., then falling to a low point during the Little Ice Age (LIA) around 1680, then rising since.

This graph was problematic for the political climate scenario that said the Earth was currently at its warmest because of the human addition of CO2, so it was replaced with Michael Mann’s “hockey stick” graph, which eliminated the MWP and LIA.  Much has been written about Mann’s graph, but I believe sufficient evidence exists to call it fraudulent.

The Science and Public Policy Institute reported in 2009, “More than 700 scientists from 400 institutions in 40 countries have contributed peer-reviewed papers providing evidence that the MWP was real, global, and warmer than the present.”  Yet Earth did not become uninhabitable.

Many will label me a “denier” and falsely claim that “97% of climate scientists” disagree with me (Google “97% of scientists climate claim debunked”).

If you still have an open mind on the subject, read literature by knowledgeable skeptical scientists for a different perspective.  Dr. Tim Ball’s Human Caused Global Warming – The Biggest Deception in History, is interesting reading.

Decide for yourself.
