Summer update and County News:
Economic Development: the 2017/18 Local Food Map is now available along with the Festival and Events Guide 2017 either as a pdf online, a print copy and the events are promoted on the County events calendar. We continue to support County-Wide (BR&E) Business Retention and Expansion and COP. Talent attraction and also work on SWIFT, a regional fibre-optic initiative bringing ultra-high speed internet connectivity to the area.
Hillsburgh Library Project (due to be completed by late April 2018): Work completed to date:-Site fencing, silt fence & selective tree removal- Site office & facilities set up – Foundation excavation, Forming and pouring of concrete footings have begun – Demolition inside the existing building has also been started. Next will be Mechanical & electrical rough-ins- Concrete floor slab- Structural steel- Loadbearing masonry- Septic system installation.
Other news affecting the Town of Erin: four additional paramedics serving us with 24/7 ambulance coverage, County Rod #50 being reconstructed and a mobile hazardous waste unit at scheduled times.
