Real estate group holds national garage sale for shelters

On May 12, Royal LePage offices across Canada will play host to the National Garage Sale for Shelter, a one-day charitable garage sale in support of the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation, Canada’s largest public foundation dedicated exclusively to supporting women’s shelters and ending family violence.

Royal LePage will hold an event in Fergus at Cherry Hill Plaza’s parking lot from 7am to 1pm. If anyone is planning a move or a spring cleanup, organizers will gladly accept clean, serviceable items.

Now in its fourth year, the event brings local residents together with Royal LePage realtors to raise funds and awareness to break the cycle of violence in Canadian homes.

Since 2009, The Shelter Foundation has raised more than $850,000 to help restore hope to thousands who have experienced family violence.  Royal LePage covers the costs so 100 per cent of all funds raised go directly to the cause.

The community is encouraged to donate gently used items to participating Royal LePage office by May 11 and visit the local garage sale on May 12 for some great deals.
