Hurricane Hazel McCallion featured guest speaker at Erin Mayor's Breakfast

Hurricane in town - Hazel McCallion, former mayor of Mississauga, was the guest speaker at the mayor’s breakfast hosted by Erin Mayor Allan Alls on Oct. 4 at the Erin Legion. McCallion and her husband Sam founded The Streetsville Booster newspaper in 1964 and she was elected mayor of Streetsville in 1970. Known as Hurricane Hazel because of her outspoken style, McCallion was acclaimed to Mississauga council in 1976 and was mayor from 1978 until 2014.
