Hoofbeat Challenge set for Sept. 26

On Sept. 26, Sunrise Therapeutic Riding and Learning Centre will host its annual Hoofbeat Challenge.

The fundraising event, a pledged ride/dog walk/hike, benefits Sunrise’s therapy, recreation and life skills programs for children and adults with special needs.

Officials invite anyone interested to ride their horse, walk their dog or just hike on over 200 acres of beautiful country trails (no roadwork).

Participants can learn about Sunrise as they ride or hike through a fun “Trivia Trails” question and answer contest.   A barbecue lunch, T-shirt and ribbon is included for all participants.

Walker registration begins at 9am and riders must register by 10am.

The event also includes a silent auction, a bake table, face painting, “market place,” door prizes, raffle prizes and more.

Entry is by $50 donation, or minimum $50 in pledges raised. Awards will be presented for highest pledges raised.

Pledge and registration forms can be found at www.sunrise-therapeutic.ca/events.html.

Participants bringing horses should contact Sunrise in advance for additional information, by calling 519-837-0558 extension 21 or emailing info@sunrise-therapeutic.ca.
