Guelph Beer Bus starts rolling in this month; monthly tours visit six breweries

GUELPH – The Guelph Beer Bus returns this spring for its fourth year.

Created as a collaboration between Guelph’s local brewers in 2019, the Guelph Beer Bus is a free shuttle service that runs on select Saturdays with stops at unique brewpubs, beer halls, and tap rooms.

Last year the initiative was recognized as a Culinary Tourism Event of the Year at the Ontario Tourism Summit and saw over 10,000 bus boardings.

“People love the Guelph Beer Bus because it’s a free, inclusive, and fun way to discover your new favourite brewery,” said Royal City Brewing owner Cam Fryer.

This year, the bus will run from 12 to 7pm once a month from April to November with six brewery stops: Wrinkly Bear; Royal City; Sleeman; Fixed Gear; Brothers; and Wellington.

The Guelph Beer Bus will run on April 13; May 11; June 15; July 13; Aug. 17; Sept. 14; Oct. 12; and Nov. 16.

The Guelph Beer Bus accepts donations to help support a scholarship for BIPOC students to attend the Niagara College Brewing Program.

“Projects like the Guelph Beer Bus have provided a unique opportunity for Guelph’s local breweries to work together and build something truly special” said Wellington Brewery marketing director Brad McInerney.

As part of each beer bus, breweries will be offering a lineup of locally brewed beer including year-round classics and small-batch specialty beers.

Many breweries will also be offering pop-up food vendors, food trucks, and tap room activities including live music, DJ’s, photo booths, and other interactive fun.

The Guelph Beer Bus will run on a 30 minute schedule at each location.
