Goss named new head coach of Mohawks

Kyle Goss of Fergus is taking over as head coach of the Elora Mohawks Junior B Lacrosse team for the 2017 season.

Goss emerged as the lead candidate on the recommendation of the 2017 coaches selection committee.

He played on the team for five years and has coached minor lacrosse for seven years. He said he is excited about his new role.

“I feel honoured,” he said.

“I’m just really excited about the opportunity and can’t wait to get going.”

The 2017 season comes filled with excitement and optimism after a talent-rich team fell short of expectations in 2016.

Team officials say Goss and his staff “bring forth positive elements of commitment, dedication, experience and communication in their goal of seeing players, as individuals and as a team, realize their full potential.”

The Mohawks wish to thank members of the 2016 coaching staff for their commitment and wish them continued success, officials state.

The full 2017 coaching staff, as well as pre-season camp dates have yet to be announced.
