Family-friendly fun at the Elora Festival

The Elora Festival has something for everyone: the worlds best professionally-trained musicians performing classical masterpieces, relaxed evenings of jazz and blues under the stars, roundtable discussions to feed the mind, and family-friendly fun.

Some of the family oriented events and activities include:

– Orphea and the Golden Harp: An adaptation of Monteverdi’s Orfeo follows the adventures of Orphea as she journeys to the underworld with her magic harp to rescue her grandfather. The performance is scheduled for July 11 at 3pm St. John’s Church in Elora;

– Elora Festival Kids Camp: Every year Elora Youth Arts Productions partners with the Elora Festival to bring you the Elora Festival Kids Camp. Children who have completed Grades 2 to 8 are invited to participate in this day camp where they will spend five days learning the musical, Pirates…The Sequel! At the end of the week, children perform the musical for family, friends, and community as part of the Elora Festival. The performance is scheduled for July 17 at 4pm at Elora Public School; and

– The Next Generation Leahy: Doug and Jennifer Leahy and their talented children bring their high-energy, infectious Celtic-based song and French-Canadian step-dancing to Elora. The performance is scheduled for July 18 at 7:30pm at Gambrel Barn in Elora.
