Erin toy drive to benefit children in the community

On Nov. 10, owners of Brighten Up in downtown Erin will join with dozens of independently owned toy stores across Canada and celebrate Neighbourhood Toy Store Day.

Store owners Chris Bailey and Stephanie Giugovaz are excited to be part of the Erin community and to be giving back to local families.

Between 11am and 3pm.  Brighten Up will feature Mingle Magic Shows with local magician Al Grose, professional face painting by Makin’ Faces and Balloon Art by Tracey; there will also be hourly door prizes and product promotions store-wide.

“This is an opportunity to celebrate your family, your community and kick off your Christmas season with your local toy store,” says Bailey.

Brighten Up will also launch its Toy Drive in partnership with East Wellington Community Services.

Over the next two months, the store will collect new, unwrapped toys for local families in need in hopes of bringing Christmas magic to a local child.

“Christmas is an especially hard time for many of our client families who are already struggling with a limited family budget,” says Erika Westcott, of East Wellington Community Services.

“We are extremely excited that Brighten Up will be working with us this year to help make the holidays brighter for many of our client families.”

Cash donations for the toy drive and Christmas hamper Program will also be collected.
