The Groves Hospital Foundation is bringing back its ‘Your Metal Matters’ campaign for the month of September.
With the May campaign being very successful, filling two bins with scrap metal, the foundation is excited to continue the campaign.
“We are (excited). It was so successful in May they did consider running it right through the summer,” said foundation director and event organizer Cheryl Rowe.
In May, the foundation partnered with Bob Vanleeuwen, owner of Fergus Auto Recyclers, in order to fundraise for the new Groves hospital.
“There’s been complete support from (Vanleeuwen), it’s been absolutely a pleasure that they’ve stepped right in and done this out of the goodness of their hearts,” said Rowe.
Donations of scrap metal and recyclables can be made at the foundation’s New to You store and at Fergus Auto Recyclers during office hours.
Items such as scrap metal, e-waste, old pots, tins, cutlery, wires, tools and small appliances can be brought to both locations. Larger items should be brought to Fergus Auto Recyclers.
The campaign runs to the end of the month, but scrap metal can be donated year round at Fergus Auto Recyclers.
