Domestic violence charges

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Local police continue to lay intimate partner violence charges across the county.

Those arrested include:

– a 38-year-old from Erin, who was charged with assault (spousal), mischief and three counts of assault causing bodily harm, in relation to an incident in Erin on May 8;

– a 40-year-old from Hanover, who was charged with assault causing bodily harm (choke, suffocate or strangle), mischief, theft under $5,000 and failing to comply with a probation order, in relation to an incident in  Mount Forest on May 11;

– a 41-year-old from Acton, who was charged with extortion, criminal harassment and sending harassing communications, in relation to an incident in  Erin on May 12; and

– a 41-year-old from Erin, who was charged with extortion, criminal harassment and sending harassing communications, in relation to an incident in a neighbouring OPP jurisdiction on May 12.

The accused are to appear in court at a later date.
