Dirksen elected president of Minto Farmers' Market
A new Farmers’ Market here is taking another step forward.
Adding to her list of many hats, Deputy-Mayor Judy Dirksen was recently elected president of the Minto Farmers’ Market Association.
Other board members include: Juanita Wilkins, vice president; Belinda Wick-Graham, secretary; Kamma Thompson, treasurer; and directors Wesley Bates, Krista Fisk, Pat Tyson, Mark Steicher, and Jim Shannon.
In a report of the committee’s activities, Wick-Graham noted the market would be open Fridays from 3pm to dusk - June through October.
Dirksen said Farmers’ Markets Ontario might be able to assist by hosting a website for market for two years, as well as helping financially for signs and promotional materials.
