Demolition day - After heated debate and numerous deferrals, demolition of the log cabin at 240 Provost Lane in Fergus took place on June 29. In recent months heritage activists and community members approached council asking it to stop demolition of one of the last log cabins in the area and to designate it a heritage site. However, at the April 27 meeting Centre Wellington councillors voted 4-3 to allow the demolition to proceed. photo by Jaime Myslik
