The federal government wants farmers to be aware there is a $600-million AgriInvest program and to ensure farmers have enough time to apply.
Minister of Agriculture Gerry Ritz announced recently the deadline for applications has been extended to April 14.
“This government is delivering new, simpler, predictable, and bankable programs for farmers.” said Ritz.
To assist producers in risk management programs, the government is providing one time cash for AgriInvest accounts. Producers who have not received a letter need to apply by April 14. For more information call, 1-866-367-8506 from 7am to 6pm or visit www.agr.gc.ca/agriinvest.
