CWDHS teacher elected to Ontario College of Teachers council

Centre Wellington District High School teacher Diane Ballantyne has been elected as the English-Language Public Board Secondary representative in the 2018 College Council election for the Ontario College of Teachers.

She has been elected for a three-year term and was up against three other candidates. She received 35 per cent of the vote.

The College Council consists of 37 members and governs the Ontario College of Teachers by developing and approving policies that regulate the teaching profession in Ontario.

The council is made up of 23 members of the college elected by their peers and 14 members of the public appointed by the provincial government.
