Minto residents Bonnie St. Jean and Pearl Oakes have volunteered their culinary skills and time to facilitate cooking classes for local youth in Grades 6 to 9.

The objective is to provide an opportunity for youth to learn all aspects of working in the kitchen such as: cleanliness during and after cooking, measurements of food, proper prep and use of utensils and sharp objects as well as the steps involved in preparing a complete meal.

Two sessions are planned for the three-week course, which will be held in the kitchen at the Harriston arena from 4 to 6:30pm.

Participation will be at a cost of $30 per person ($10 per week).

The first course will run Feb. 22, March 1 and March 8 and the second session will run March 22, March 29 and April 5.

To register contact Somer Gerber at info@launchitminto.com or 519-510-7400 or Bonnie at 519-510-3636.
