Credit Valley Conservation seeks input on new strategic plan

MISSISSAUGA – Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) is developing a new strategic plan that will guide the organization’s work from 2023 to 2027, while looking ahead to 2051. CVC is seeking input from the community to help shape the strategic plan.

Between June 12 and 30, residents of, and visitors to, the Credit River Watershed are encouraged to fill out CVC’s online Strategic Plan Survey to help identify areas most important, and what CVC should focus on to address opportunities and challenges of the future. Take the survey at cvc.ca.StrategicPlanSurvey.

“We’re crafting a new strategic plan that is bold and inspiring,” CVC CAO Quentin Hanchard stated in a press release.

“We value the input from our watershed community. We want to hear what your hope is for the local environment to help guide our work,” Hanchard added.

Completing the survey will allow participants to enter for a chance to win a $75 Credit Valley Parks gift card. There are 10 gift cards available, which can be put towards an annual parks pass, event tickets, equipment rentals and more.

CVC’s strategic plan is a guidance document that will outline the mission and vision, and provide big-picture goals, as well as the ways to achieve them.

Looking long-term, the organization is also considering trends that will shape the watershed over the next 30 years including:

– population growth;

– changing landscapes;

– climate change; and

– digital lifestyles.

Community input from the survey will inform the final version of the 2023-27 strategic plan.

The final plan will be presented to CVC’s board of directors for endorsement in November.
