County road closed to allow servicing of dam gates
MAPLETON – The Grand River Conservation Authority will be closing Wellington Road 11 between Wellington Road 45 and Line 4 periodically over the next couple of weeks between 9am and 3pm.
The closure is to allow the GRCA to remove two gates at the Conestogo Dam for inspection and servicing.
Road closures were scheduled for Sept. 27 and 29, 30, Oct. 4 and 5. However due heavy rainfall last week and and the impact on storage in the Conestogo reservoir the GRCA is delaying the start of the gate work.
The intended start date for this project is now Sept. 29.
The closure of Wellington Road 11 between Wellington Road 45 and 4th Line of Mapleton will now occur on Sept. 29 with the other closure dates to be determined once work commences.
