Check out tales of eight Centre Wellington trees

ELORA – For those curious about the history, biology and folklore of some of Centre Wellington’s celebrated trees, Neighbourwoods has produced an online interactive tool that can be accessed via laptop, desktop and mobile phone.

The new hands-on Story Map was inspired by last year’s Tour the Trees event, where cyclist Rick Goodfellow led local peddlers around the community to learn about notable trees.

Now, whether cycling, walking or simply at home, residents can experience the tour with stories, pictures and video content.

Until late August, all the trees on the map will be identified by a laminated sign with a QR code.

Those with the QR app on their phone will be one quick scan away from accessing information about each tree.

Neighbourwoods is grateful to Greg Wolowich, GIS planning coordinator for Centre Wellington, for his tech support and to the township for its funding under the Community Impact Grant program.
