Centre Wellington Fire & Rescue has two new deputy chiefs

Two local firefighters are moving up the ranks at Centre Wellington Fire and Rescue.

As identified within the council-approved Fire Master Plan a new fire inspector/life safety educator position and the creation of two deputy chief positions were included in the 2018 budget.

As part of the implementation, the department, along with township staff completed the hiring process for the two new deputy xhiefs.

In a press release issued March 6, Centre Wellington Fire and Rescue announced the two successful internal candidates who recently accepted their new positions.

Tom Mulvey, Deputy Chief - Prevention and Public Education

Mulvey started with the Centre Wellington Fire department in 1993 as a VFF. In 2003 he became full time and held the rank of District Chief / Public Safety Officer.

Jonathan Karn, Deputy Fire Chief - Training and Suppression

Karn started with the Centre Wellington Fire Department in 1999 and accepted the position of Wellington County Training Officer in 2011.
