Celebrating Canada Day across the region

Aberfoyle

The Puslinch Optimists invite the community to celebrate Canada Day at the Puslinch Community Centre in Aberfoyle between 9 and 11am.

There will be a complimentary pancake breakfast with maple syrup, eggs and bacon, juice and coffee …. and of course Happy Canada Day cake.

There will be supervised bouncy castle entertainment for the kids.

There will be a free fireworks display at dusk on the community centre grounds.

All food and entertainment is free and donations will be gratefully accepted.

Holstein

In Holstein, the Egremont Optimist Club, supported by Canadian Heritage, is helping to celebrate the day at Holstein Jubilee Park on July 1.

From 10am to 4pm the Optimists will host the Summer Dreams Holstein Car Show and Flea Market.

The entry fee is $10 per car, spectators free.

Starting at 5pm the Junior  Optimists will host a barbecue, picnic, various games, face painting and music.

Spencer Bristow is expected to play a tribute to Elvis at 7pm.

Fireworks are planned for dusk.

Grand Valley

Grand Valley Canada Day celebrations are on June 29.

In preparation for Saturday’s Grand Valley Soap Box Derby an inspection day will be held on June 27 from 6  to 8pm at The Door Youth Centre at 23 Mill Street West.

The derby itself is a chance to see friends and neighbours race down Mill Street. Races start at 9am.

A car show will be held on on Main Street from 1 to 4pm. Businesses will be open and additional activities will be happening on the street during that time.That night, check out Canada Day fireworks at Stuckey Park.
