Caribbean Christmas Dinner and Dance coming to Puslinch Community Centre

PUSLINCH – The Guelph Black Heritage Society (GBHS) salutes the twin island country of Trinidad and Tobago this year.

Trinidad and Tobago is known for its natural beauty, including forests, beaches, mangroves and coral reefs and is home to many unique birds and other wildlife.

The twin islands are the birthplace of steelpan and host a boisterous carnival every year featuring not only calypso and soca music, but a deep history and tradition of artistry and political commentary.

The Caribbean Christmas Dinner and Dance will feature music by DJ Jinx, scholarship presentations, food by Big Jerk Smokehouse, and prizes. The Kween Company will share a full dance performance featuring various styles of the Caribbean.

Guests will receive one complimentary cocktail of rum punch or ponche de crème, a favourite drink in the Caribbean for Christmas that is similar to eggnog.

The event will be held at the Puslinch Community Centre (23 Brock Rd. S., Morriston), with doors opening at 6:30pm and dinner served at 7pm.

Tickets are available until  Nov. 1 for $65 per person, $55 per person for groups of four,  and $35 per student. After Nov. 1, all tickets will go up in price by $10.
