Career Education Council offers three events

The Career Education Council is offering three events in the coming months.

Career Pathways Dufferin

On April 4 over 1,000 Grade 8 students will attend the Career Patheways Dufferin in Mono at the community church from 9:30am to 2:30pm.

Local businesses will be on hand to show a range of career option to students.

Students will leave with an increased awareness of the skills, education and attitude required in different occupations.

Business and education breakfast

On April 7 the CEC will offer its annual business and education breakfast at the Delta in Guelph from 7 to 9:30am.

The breakfast offers networking opportunities between employers, educators and students to look at career pathways and develop skills.

Each year students speak to attendees highlighting the benefits of experiencial learning and career exploration.

There will also be a keynote address speaking to preparing youth for their futures.

Youth Employment Opportunity Fair

On May 24 the CEC will offer the Youth Employment Opportunity Fair at the Holiday Inn Guelph Hotel and Conference Centre from noon to 4pm.

Grade 12 students will be given the opportunity to meet local employers who are recruiting for positions that will begin when the school year is complete.

Students attending must be prepared to meet employers, complete job applications and possibly take part in an interview.

The CEC serves Guelph, Wellington and Dufferin, connecting and partnering with businesses and education to help students explore careers, gain meaningful workplace experiences and discover a connection to the workforce and the future.
