Last month, the residents of Wellington County supported the Canadian Cancer Society’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month campaign raising over $14,000.
This was made possible by more than 60 local individuals who volunteered their time to sell pink ribbons and 24 people who assisted in the Guelph Storm event, Pink in the Rink.
“Money raised through Breast Cancer Awareness Month and other fundraisers throughout the year help local patients and their families through life-saving research, support services and funds other important work so that fewer Canadians are touched by cancer,” said Karen Griffiths, senior manager for the Canadian Cancer Society, in an email.
“Last year, in Wellington County we helped 742 local people through all of our support services.”
