BHS launches Caribbean Christmas Dinner home edition

GUELPH – The Black Heritage Society’s annual Caribbean Christmas Dinner and Dance is launching a “home edition” this year.

People can still enjoy the tastes of Caribbean – it will just have to be from the safety of their homes due to the pandemic.

Food can be ordered in advance and picked up on Dec. 12. Food is provided by Big Jerk Caribbean Catering and Laza Food and Beverages.

Each dinner comes with an entree, rice and peas, coleslaw and cocktail festival.

Drinks, desserts and soup can also be ordered.

The menu:

– fried snapper dinner – $35

– jerk chicken dinner – $35

– vegan (chickpea and callaloo) Dinner – $35

– mango cheesecake – $7

– tiramisu – $7

– cup of chicken soup – $4

– hibiscus honey drink – $4

– hibiscus ginger drink – $4

Items must be ordered in advance and will be available https://my-site-gbhs.square.site/ until Dec. 5:

Pick up time will be Dec. 12 from 3pm to 5pm at the Heritage Hall, 83 Essex Street.

Proceeds from the Caribbean Christmas Dinner will go towards the #ChangeStartsNow education initiative, to provide educational programming on Black history and culture as well as relevant resources on diversity, discrimination and anti-racism.
