Badenoch 4H Breakfast Chefs

BADENOCH – The first meeting of the Badenoch 4H Club was held at the Badenoch Community Centre May 17 at 4pm.

The club we are taking is called Breakfast Bonanza.

Our leader Marion Hunter  went over the different food group with us.

We then mixed muffin batter using a hand mixer and were explained how to use electric appliances safely.  Our assistant leader Florence Peer made sure the muffins were cooked by inserting a wooden tooth pick.

We all thought of a name for the Club for next week.  The meeting was closed with the repeating of the 4H pledge and motto – Learn to do by doing.

Second meeting

At the second meeting, it was decided our meetings will be held at the Badenoch Communiuty Centre and the name of the Club would be Badenoch Breakfast Chefs.

Elections were held and the positions are as follows –  president: Thandu Dube, vice president: Abby Fraser, decretary Landon Robertson, press reporter Jabula Dube, other members are Brianne Armstrong and Carter DeVies.

Everyone enjoyed making their favorite smoothie and got to take home cookies.  The meeting was closed with the repeating of the 4H Pledge and Motto.

Third meeting

President Thandu called the meeting to order. Marion then showed us a variety of apples and told us the best use of each one.  We then prepared the fruit for the Fresh Fruit Salad and make Morning Glory Muffins.

We learned how to use a grater, we grated the apple of the muffins.  A discussion on why fruit and vegetables are good for our health.

Each went home with a cup of Fresh fruit and a muffin.  The meeting was closed repeating the 4H pledge and motto.
