Arthur Hub grand opening is slated for Sept. 16

ARTHUR – The Arthur Hub is hosting its grand opening event Sept. 16 from 1 to 3pm.

The event provides an opportunity for the community to come and learn about the youth programs the Hub is offering, and to witness first hand the relocation from the former Arthur Door location.

“It has been quite the transition to bring everything together but we would all agree that it’s also been a lot of fun for the volunteers too – in making the church space compatible so that there is a unique place for everyone.” says volunteer Jan Kaikkonen.

“We believe this is a unique opportunity for the community of Arthur – particularly in terms of expanding programs for youth and young adults.”

Some of the features and benefits of the Arthur Hub include:

– Establishing a theatre group for Arthur;

– Expanding the gourmet cooking cass program to include foods from different cultures;

– Offering tutoring sessions for students in grades 1 to 12;

– Continuing the monthly Speaker Series, wherein topics of interest are highlighted by professionals; and,

– Providing training programs that enhance the importance of mentors in the lives of youth.

“We are happy to report that youth drop-in nights and Parents & Tots continued to operate through the summer months – even on holidays wherein traditionally under the old Door system, we were closed, and that the monthly breakfast fundraisers will commence on the first Saturday of the month beginning in October,” says Kaikkonen. “We hope that everyone is as excited as we are, and can take this opportunity to visit the new Arthur Hub.”

Arthur Hub is a continuation of the former Arthur Door Youth for Christ Ministry and Outreach.

The Hub plans to expand programs to include skills training, cooking classes, tutoring for Grades 1 to 12, special speakers, and discipleship/mentorship training, and theatre.

The Hub is 100% operated by a dedicated group of volunteers committed to helping youth reach their full potential.
