GRCA hosts flood preparedness workshop

In partnership with the Grand River Conservation Authority, the Insurance Bureau of Canada and Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health the County of Dufferin is hosting a flood preparedness and recovery workshop.

This workshop will advise residents of the steps they can take to protect their families and property against the threat of flooding.

It will be held at Grand Valley and District Community Centre, 90 Main Street North, Grand Valley on March 20 from 7 to 9pm.

Speakers will include Dufferin County Emergency Management, Grand River Conservation Authority, Insurance Bureau of Canada, Town of Grand Valley, Canadian Red Cross, Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health and Caledon/Dufferin Victim Services.

 This workshop was scheduled following the debriefing of the June 23 flash flooding in Wellington and Dufferin County and is intended to build the awareness and resilience of the community.
