For the first time Habitat for Humanity Wellington Dufferin Guelph (Habitat WDG) is offering 80 Team Build Days for businesses, organizations and team groups in the community.
Booking is now open for Team Build Days for 2018 spring, summer and early fall seasons at the Cityview Village construction site, located near York Road and Victoria Road in Guelph.
“Now that we’re building on a much larger scale, we need the community more than ever before,” explained Amber Wood, senior manager of Stakeholder Programs for Habitat WDG.
“Our community has the chance to share their Guelph-proud passion on our build site and actually see the result of their dedication to the cause of affordable housing.”
At $2,000, Team Build Days act as revenue source for Habitat WDG, allowing for the organization to scale up their builds in the community.
“For Habitat, scaling up is much more than quantity,” Wood said. “Scaling up means building affordable and inclusive communities.”
Habitat’s Team Build Days are for groups of four to 12 people, and are open to people of all skill-sets.
Team members learn useful skills as they work side-by-side in a safe environment under the leadership of experienced Habitat crew leaders.
