School board offers high school information sessions

Grade 8 students and their parents/guardians are invited to learn more about the opportunities at high schools in the Upper Grand District School Board, which range from academics and trades to Sports, music and the arts.

In addition to offering many of the ministry-approved courses that make up the Ontario Curriculum, every secondary school in the UGDSB also offers courses, packages or programs that are unique and inspired by the interests of the students, staff and the local community.

These programs range from specialized arts and Sports programs, to environmental leadership programs and locally-focused food and agriculture programs.

Most parent information nights include a special presentation about the high school, its programs and the registration process.

Both parents and their teenaged children can also tour the school and ask the principal and teachers more about programs and other opportunities.

Wellington County information nights include:

– Wellington Heights Secondary School on Dec. 6 from 5:30 to 7:30pm;

– Norwell District Secondary School on Dec. 7 from 6:30 to 8pm;

– Centre Wellington District High School on Dec. 13 at 7pm; and

– Erin District High School on Jan. 11 from 7 to 8pm. Grade 7 students welcome.
