The Learning Disabilities Association of Wellington County is hosting its 3rd annual Family Conference.
Attendees will have access to a variety of workshops led by field professionals.
They can explore topics such as learning disabilities (LDs) and anxiety, Chromebooks 101, current trends in math and tools available in the special education system.
This year’s conference will feature two keynote speakers: Michael Reist speaking about “How Boys and Girls Learn Differently” and Integra’s Hayley Stinson giving an experiential workshop on living with LDs, entitled “Walk A Mile in My Shoes.”
The conference is free and takes place Oct. 21 from 8:30am to 4:30pm at St. James Catholic High School in Guelph.
All of the workshop facilitators bring experience surrounding challenges and issues that families face every day in their journey supporting their children with LDs or ADHD.
The conference is made possible by a Parents Reaching Out grant through the Ontario Ministry of Education.
