The Volunteer Centre of Guelph-Wellington recently announced that it would be changing it’s name to The People and Information Network (PIN).
“We have seen tremendous growth over the past years,” reflected PIN executive director, Christine Oldfield.
“With all this evolution, came an important realization: our name didn’t reflect the services and supports we provide in Guelph and Wellington County. After much conversation, the board decided a name change was going to help us to better connect with our community.”
Board chair Anne-Marie Simpson said “PIN … is a perfect summary of who we are.
“While volunteer coordination and support are core to our work, we also support the development of individuals and organizations by helping them navigate essential community services, and we enable best practices and continuous learning for professionals in the non-profit sector. We are a literal network of people and information.”
And while the name is changing, the services that PIN brings the community will not.
All of the services that were offered by the Volunteer Centre will continue to be offered by PIN.
The name change is a significant undertaking and is something the PIN team believes will help build more linkages in the community. And while the name and logo may be new, the thoughtful connection of people and information has been in the organizations DNA for a long time.
The rebranding effort was handled locally by the team from the Letter M Marketing and involved extensive community engagement. The PIN name will be rolled out over the next four months.
