Devlan Construction Ltd. of Guelph has been selected as the contractor for the new Hillsburgh Library.
Councillor Rob Black, chair of Wellington County’s library board, announced the selection at the April, 27 county council meeting, noting work is expected begin shortly.
Devlan has previously been the contractor on library projects in Drayton and Arthur and the Mount Forest and Willowdale Child Care and Learning Centres. The new $3.1 million dollar Hillsburgh Library was designed by the architectural firm +VG Architects. The new library at 9 Station Street will be located on the lands that surround the historic mill pond. This library will replace the current branch located on Trafalgar Road in the village’s downtown. The current space is leased. The library is scheduled to be completed next summer.
