It’s hard to imagine that at the beginning of summer things are already heating up in preparation for the Christmas season of giving.
The Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington is checking its to-do list which includes finding a location to serve as Santa’s Workshop for the Adopt-A-Family program.
With over 2,000 children helped at the holidays, the organization requires a large, empty space to house volunteers and the volume of gifts they receive from donors to prepare for delivery to local families in need.
The Children’s Foundation is looking for a special holiday hero who could donate unused space this fall.
Some of the requirements are:
– approximately 7,500-10,000 square feet of space in the Guelph-Wellington area;
– ample parking;
– prefer level access with no or few stairs;
– ability to drive up close to the doors or possibly large warehouse door for gift delivery and pickup;
– ability to bring in phone lines and internet connection;
– washroom on site;
– space required ideally from mid-October to early January.
Perhaps the most important requirement is to want to “make glad the heart of childhood,” and to know that the donation of space will play a big part in bringing smiles of joy to over 2,000 children during this holiday season.
