Both local school boards have added an additional professional activity (PA) day on April 25 as a result of recently-negotiated central agreements.
Upper Grand District School Board secondary teachers will use the day to focus on ministry priorities, including math and equity, board officials say, while elementary teachers will spend the extra day on occupational health and safety training and mathematics education.
Wellington Catholic District School Board professional activities on this day will be devoted to provincial education priorities and may include math, occupational health and safety, inquiry-based and experiential learning, assessment, and equity, officials say.
Beginning this year there will be seven PA days included in each school year.
