Guelph Community Foundation announces over $19,000 in grants

The grants committee at The Guelph Community Foundation has announced the recipients of their Kids to Camp grants for 2015.

Thirteen area camps were selected to receive a total of $19,895 funding this year. The money is used to send kids to camp who otherwise would never be able to go.

“Knowing that there are kids out there that are getting the chance to experience camp, who may have missed out because they couldn’t afford to go, is just amazing,” said Susan Brown, chair of the grants committee. “There’s something about summer camp that helps make kids resilient.”

The following Wellington County summer camp programs have been selected to receive grant funds from the Guelph Community Foundation:

– Community Resource Centre of North and Centre Wellington;

– Sunrise Therapeutic Riding and Learning Centre;

– Family and Children’s Services of Guelph and Wellington County; and

– Guelph Wellington Women in Crisis
