The Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington has a fresh new look.
As the needs of the community continue to grow, so does the reach of the Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington (CFGW). In response to this growth and to feedback received through a brand audit process, the CFGW determined it was time to evolve its visual identity to more accurately reflect the organization.
“We wanted to ensure that we are well positioned to meet the needs of our community and that our brand represents the professional organization we are,” said CFGW executive director Glenna Banda. “Consistency among our program brands was also identified as a key priority so the community better understands the full scope of our work.”
The new brand features a stronger icon with solid lines and brighter colours. The combination of a child-like font balanced with a strong, modern, capitalized type treatment speaks to the audience served while promoting the Children’s Foundation as a professional, well-run organization.
The colour palette is bold and vibrant representing the energy and creativity staff and volunteers bring to all that they do.
The organizational tagline has also been modified to be more impact based: “Building brighter futures.”
“In addition to identifying the need for a tagline that more directly spoke to our impact, our research also indicated that our grants program name needed to more accurately reflect what it’s all about. Free to Play is the new name of our grants program,” Banda said.
The programs of the Children’s Foundation work together to support the whole child by providing opportunities that ensure a solid foundation for success and wellbeing.
These programs are:
– Adopt-A-Family Program: matches donors with families in need in order to lift spirits and make Christmas shine a little brighter.
– Food & Friends Program: provides healthy food in a safe and convenient environment to help maximize students’ potential to learn.
– Free to Play Program (formerly the Grants Program): provides financial assistance for Sports, camp and arts programs so kids can be active, take part in new life experiences and learn valuable social skills.
– Scholarships Program: provides financial support for post-secondary education to youth who have overcome adversity and challenges to graduate high school.
The CFGW was able to complete the project with the generous assistance of volunteer Jaime Bickerton who conducted the research phase of the project, and The Letter M Marketing who provided the visual identity design in-kind.
CFGW remains committed to ensuring the roll-out is completed in a cost effective manner and nothing goes to waste.
“We are really excited about our new visual identity. It is bright, positive and strong which is all reflective of the Children’s Foundation’s work and it will help us better serve our community,” Banda said.
