Hospice Wellington’s 11th annual Hike for Hospice fundraiser is set for June 7 from 10am to 2pm, at the Ignatius Jesuit Centre.
There are three different hike levels: a 3km, a 5km, and a walking tour. There will also be fun family activities; therapeutic touch and reiki treatments; and food vendors on site.
Hospice Wellington offers care to people living with a life-limiting illness, and support to individuals and families that are experiencing grief due to the loss of a loved one.
With close to 300 attendees, Hike for Hospice helps the organization to raise funds for its 10-bed residence and community programs. The care is warm, skilled and compassionate, and is available both in an individual’s residence and in the community.
The organization invites hikers to join family, friends, co-workers and the community to honour memories of loved ones in a caring and fun way, while raising funds for Hospice Wellington. To register, go to www.hospicewellington.org.
All participants that register by May 15 will receive a T-shirt.
