KnECT hosts Mad Hatter Tea Party on May 9 at Knox Presbyterian Church

On May 9 the local group known as KnECT (Knox Elora Care Team) will host a “Mad Hatter” Tea Party and Photo Show at Knox Presbyterian Church in Elora.

The proceeds of this event  will go to their partners, Pan Missions (from Guelph) whose plan is to raise $10,000 to build a concrete block, two-bedroom home with a washroom for Mauricio Gonzales, his wife Jamileth and their two children, Gabriel and Anna in Nicaragua.

Locals from both here and Guelph will be travelling to Nicaragua the first two weeks in August to make this family’s dream come true.

Along with KnECT, Kyle Topping (a young and upcoming) talented Canadian photographer will be displaying his work for this benefit.

Topping’s photos of his recent journey to Nicaragua will be for sale and a portion of the proceeds of his sales will go to building the Gonzales’ family a home.

Topping’s photos are on display from 9am until 8pm in the sanctuary of Knox Church.  Admission is free.

The Mad Hatter Tea Party will take place in two sittings.  One from 11:30am until 1pm  and the second from 2 until 3pm.

Tickets for the tea are $10 each,  sandwiches, scones, and desserts are on the menu.  Along with raffle prizes for adults and children at each sitting.

The tea is going to be fun for all ages. Dress up, dress down, wear gloves or wear hats.

Help build a home for a family in need.
