Busy National Youth Week planned in Wellington North

May 1-7 is National Youth Week – a week-long celebration for youth, in our communities.

Across Canada. Youth Week, focuses on recognizing and appreciating the contributions that young people make to our neighbourhoods on a daily basis.

Every year across Canada, communities come together from May 1-7, to show support for their youth.

In a recent survey done with a portion of high school students in north Wellington, 43% reported that they did not feel valued by adults within their community. Youth week gives our communities a great opportunity to show gratitude for our young people.

STEP Well, and the North Wellington Coalition for Youth Resiliency have joined forces, to bring Youth Week 2015 to north Wellington! During Youth Week, we will be providing no-cost fun filled activities from Friday, May 1st until Thursday, May 7th. This a great opportunity to have both members of the community and youth alike, participate together in celebration!

Organizers have set out the challenge of “Putting YOU in YOUth Week”
