The annual skills competition between area high schools took place at the Centre Wellington District High School on March 31.
Four students competed in the IT and Networking division and 12 took part in the TV/Video division.
The IT division required programming a computer and solving problems as well as installing new hard and software. A program was developed for students to work on and solve.
The TV division required making a small video around the school and putting it together like a movie. Students were judged on how well it was done and on technical merit.
Schools competing were: Centre Wellington District High School, GCVI in Guelph, Norwell District Secondary School in Palmerston and Wellington Heights Secondary School in Mount Forest.
The gold and silver medal teams go on to a regional competition in Barrie and the winners from that will go to provincial competition at RIM Park in Waterloo in May.
Winners this year were: IT division gold, Nik MacMillam and Nadim Merrikh from GCVI; silver Cassandra Morrison and Reilly Taylor-MacBeth from CWDHS, and gronze Chantel Heyden and Brooklyn Iden from NDSS. IT winners were: gold, Charles Toms; and silver, Zach Ternan, both from CWDHS.
