National Volunteers Week is celebrated every year to promote, encourage and recognize the 13.3 million volunteers in communities throughout Canada.
“A volunteer action is like a stone thrown in a lake: its effect has a direct impact,” officials from Volunteer Canada state.
“At the same time, like ripples, volunteer efforts reach out far and wide to improve communities.
“Undeniably, volunteers rock.”
National Volunteer Week, set for April 12 to 18 this year, is a time to recognize, celebrate and thank Canada’s volunteers.
Volunteer Canada officials are encouraging everyone to thank volunteers whenever possible.
Findings from Volunteer Canada and Investors Group’s 2013 Volunteer Recognition Study indicate many volunteers appreciate a genuine thank you.
“Whether it is with words highlighting the impact of a volunteer’s contribution or a small personalized token, a custom and sincere thanks makes a difference,” state Volunteer Canada officials.
