The Wellington-Halton Hills Federal Green Party Association has acclaimed Brent Bouteiller as its federal candidate.
Bouteiller and his partner Eliza and their two children have lived in Centre Wellington since 1998. Brent also ran as the GPC candidate in the last two elections.
As a professional engineer with over 20 years of experience in civil engineering, Bouteiller has assisted numerous municipalities in the renewal of sanitary sewers, watermains and storm sewers as well as addressing parking, traffic and transit issues.
From 2003 to 2009, Bouteiller was a member of the board of directors of the Community Resource Centre of North and Centre Wellington, serving as president for two years.
During that time, he led the group through two three-year strategic planning initiatives.
In his time as a member of the Centre Wellington Economic Development subcommittee, his focus was on the development of eco-business areas in the community.
Bouteiller is currently co-president of the Waterloo Region & Guelph Professional Chapter of Engineers Without Borders (EWB) where he leads discussions on issues of poverty in sub-Saharan Africa and Canadian First Nations communities.
In addition, Bouteiller has been a member of Transport Focus since 1990 and was Technical Affairs Chair and membership secretary in the early 1990s.
