DRAYTON 5 – MISSIONARY 3
Despite being outshot 15 to 3 in the first period, Missionary scored the only goal in the opening frame.
Tom Chambers grabbed a loose puck during a penalty kill and sent it over the left shoulder of the goaltender for a short-handed goal.
Drayton tied the game early in the second. Mark Timmerman and Eric Deckers moved the puck to set up Jason Mohle for the goal.
Drayton took the lead before the period ended. Brent DeKoning sent a pass to Brandon Rumph along the right boards. Rumph snapped a hard shot along the ice to put the puck to the back of the net.
Drayton strengthened their lead to start off the third with two quick goals. A scramble at the net ended with Jason Mohle flicking the puck into the open corner. Robyn Curry assisted.
Shortly after, Eric Deckers sent the puck over a fallen net minder during another scramble. Cam Mohle assisted.
Missionary came back with a pair within 20 seconds. Dave Scholten scored with a rising wrist shot and Matt Burnett stormed the net to roll the puck behind the goaltender.
Drayton answered with one final goal. Rob DeWeerd sent Mike DeWeerd skating in on net. Mike went to the right side and slipped the puck into the top short side corner to put the game away.
FLORADALE 9 – COMMUNITY 0
Floradale opened the game late in the first period. Willis and Dan Martin worked the puck to the left corner for Ryan Martin. A hard shot along the ice sent the puck through the crowd and into the net.
Floradale added a goal midway through the second. Corey Wideman intercepted a drop pass in the Community end and skated the puck the length of the ice. Wideman crossed the blue line and rifled a slap shot past the goaltender.
Floradale added three more goals before the period ended. Javon Martin scored a pair and Ryan Weber scored in the final minute. Assists went to Tim Martin, Brandon Martin and Josh Brohman.
Floradale added four more unanswered goals in the third. Javon Martin scored to complete his hat trick, and Ryan Martin scored twice for another hat trick. Corey Wideman added the final goal. Assists went to Mike Martin (2) and Tim Martin.
BETHEL 4 – LISTOWEL 1
Bethel scored the opening goal midway through the first period. Mike Seiling stepped into a loose puck and snapped a shot past a diving goaltender.
Listowel tied the game before the period ended. A face-off to the left of the Bethel net led to Travis Kuepfer sending the puck into the short side corner.
Bethel took the lead early in the second. Matt Horst and Caleb Bauman worked the puck to Mike Veens deep in the right side corner. Veens snapped a hard wrist shot to beat the glove of the netminder.
Bethel added a pair of goals in a six-second span late in the period. Matt Horst rifled a slap shot for a goal. Caleb Bauman followed with a rising wrist shot seconds later for a goal. Assists were earned by Brandon Wideman, Tim Bauman, and Zac Bauman.
The third period remained scoreless allowing Bethel to continue a winning streak.
