For candidate Stephen O’Neill who fell to incumbent Lynda White, with 827 votes to her 1,207, “It was a learning experience to say the least,” he said.
In the next term, O’Neill said the county should direct more effort toward reduced spending.
“I think they have too much of our money,” he reflected.
White said she thinks the campaign went well this time around but said she heard a lot of concern about the rising taxes and this will be a key issue going forward.
“I hope that we continue with a team of councillors at the county level who will work together for the benefit of all,” she said. “We are successful, we have a great credit rating and we have wonderful people who live here and that is important for long-term growth and prosperity.”
